The Homeless In The Ueno Park

Baggages lined along the side of a road are for the homeless living in the Ueno park. The homeless put their baggages on a cart with casters, because the government sometimes removes away their things from the street. They have to carry their cart to move other place. The homeless are increasing in the park, on the station yard, in the train, in a shopping district under the influence of prolonged-recession. The homeless used to give us a strong impression as lazy fellows when the business was good. But recently many people has become the homeless because of
unemployment. Osaka City Government announced the result of the survey(The number of the homeless in the city is estimated 12,000 at present) on 672 homeless from 20's to 80's. Nearly 80 % of 672 homeless are working and about 65% of them have worked over 20 days a month. About 57% of 464 homeless answered for their salary are getting only less than 30,000 yen.
