Japanese And Wheat And Barley

In Japan wheat has been caltivated since 2000 years before and barley has been produced since about 3`4th century, but most of them are imported goods now. Japanese love food made from wheat and barley. Noodles have been popular since 7th century and bread was introduced in 16th century and spread out after the Second World War. Though Japanese live on rice, most of people eat rice with other grain such as barley before the war. And "Mugicha", roasted barley tea, is indispensable in summer. It is said that the good point of Mugicha is low calories, caffeinless and have an effect on helping circulation of blood or protect the gastric membrane. Beer is the most popular drink in Japan and one adult drinks it about 65 liter in a year.
