We don't feel gerish even it was painted in gold. It is because we used to see fanciful color of building such as shocking pink or fluorescent yellow. As regarding hight, Kasumigaseki building is common now. More than 30 buildings are higher than Kasumigaseki building in Japan. The highest building in Japan is 296 meters high and it is located in Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa-ken. That's why they invest a huge sum of money in repainting wall or introduce high speed correspondence circuit to survive.
