At the entrance of the branch store in Tokyo, a sign left as was says,"We would like to have your continued favor.", which is supposed to have been put up in July.
Sogo company developed 29 stores at its peak which was the largest number as a department store. The company had stores at the best business districts in front of the stations all over Japan. When land prices rose on the wave of prosperity, it increased stores taking measures to get a mortgage on the land or building to raise the funds for a new store.
But land prices has droped due to the depression and the company has come to a deadlock.
