Horokukyu
(Shibuya Ward at 11:00 a.m.)

There's an event called Horokukyu, a kind of moxa treatment at the Myoenji temple. It's been held for the sake of people's health on the day of Doyo no Ushi no Hi since Edo period - more than 300 years ago.

The date of Doyo no Ushi no Hi changes a bit every year but it is always in the middle of hot summer, the last 10 days of July. So there's a custom to eat grilled eel which is nutritiously rich food to stand the heat.
