Souvenir Photo with Mammoths
(Sapporo city, Hokkaido)
@It is estimated that there were a lot of mammoths in Hokkaido around 20,000 to 60,000 years ago. So the medium-sized snow statues of mother mammoth and her baby appeared as the photo shows. Only three statues are introduced here, but the Snow Festival was held at the three sites in Sapporo city with more than 300 large and small statues for this year.
@You can enjoy the festival with a lot of amusements such as ice sliders which are very popular with children or snow statues citizens made. Admission is free to the all exhibition sites.
