The Shosen-kyo (a canyon)
(June 9, Kofu-shi, Yamanashi-ken)

It is said that the Shosen-kyo, 4 kilometers long and located in the middle reaches of the Ara River, is the most beautiful canyon in Japan, especially, in the season of fresh green and that of red leaves. You can go and return in one day because it takes about 30 minutes by car or by bus from Kofu-shi, an urban area, in the center of Yamanashi-ken.
