From Money to Medals
(Chiyoda ward, Tokyo on Aug.27)

In Chiyoda ward, Tokyo, the Mint Bureau of the Finance Ministry held an exhibition introducing the history of coins and the Mint service between Aug. 24 and 29. The photo shows Huhonsen which is supposed to have been made at the end of the 7th century. It was thought to be used for a spell but there was an announcement in January this year that Huhonsen had a good chance of being the oldest coin in Japan.
