There was an exhibition of new and popular goods targeted at drugstores in koto ward, Tokyo between Sep.28 and Sep.30. Drugstores have a lot of articles of medicine and cosmetics with lower prices attracting a number of young women. They have had a rapid growth for the last five or six years with sales up to 400 billion yen in ten major companies in fiscal 1997. And a big chain store, Matsumotokiyoshi Co.,Ltd. was listed on the 1st Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange this August. The photo of a mannequin shows trends among girls in their late teens which are suntanned skin, thinly-trimmed eyebrows and eyelashes glittering with lame.
