Plenty of Food

There were farm produce and marine products from all parts of the country on sale at the place. Japan's food self-sufficiency rate has been declining. In 1997 japan produced 41 percent of its won food on the calorie basis, and 28 percent on the weight basis of grain including feed. On the other hand, it is said that nearly 5 percent of supplied food is left unfinished.
