The word "Bakushu" is written "fall of the barley" in Kanji. It means the season of the barley harvest. This word is used in Tanka(Japanese poem of thirty-one syllables) or Haiku(a traditional fixed form of verse-in 5-7-5)as a season word expressing the early summer.
