Yabusame is a traditional event of archery shooting the mark from a horse running at full speed, which is dedicated to Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine in Kamakura city, Kanagawa prefecture on Sep.16 every year. This dedicatory Yabusame was for the first time done by Minamoto-no-Yoritomo in 1187. (Yoritomo is a samurai who set up the shogunate in Kamakura in 1192)
